6am - Check out the instagramable buildings
If you’re a runner or an Instagrammer, 6am is the best time to start your day in order to avoid the crowds.
The most charming of the darling streets in Notting Hill are the world-famous Mews. These alleyways are lined with charming painted houses. Quiet and picturesque, after strolling through a few random streets, you will discover why this area is used for so many famous film backdrops. Each street is filled with character and charm!

9am - Enjoy an indulgent breakfast

From street vendors, sit-down cafes to upscale restaurants there is something for everyone. Be sure to try Farm Girl Cafe’s famous London rose latte, created for a multitude of health benefits. Head to Daylesford Organic to indulge in some quality organic ingredients. Or, if you want to try a “proper” British breakfast (complete with Liver and Onions) Mikes Cafe is complete with 1960s red booth seating.
11am - Shop Portobello Road Market
This road is a world famous market-street that has been paid homage to in the film Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and very little has changed since! Imagine the Antiques Road Show but outdoors! Wander down the road and marvel at the antiques that lay before you. Deemed the world’s largest antique market, this charming, half-mile road has it all!
Fridays and Saturdays are the best days to visit. However, the market itself is extremely popular and crowded as people come in their droves to browse vintage treats, handmade leatherworks, cashmere and exotic treasures.
1pm - A spot of lunch
No day in Notting Hill would be complete without visiting Books for Cooks. This is a hugely popular lunch spot (expect to queue), its a bookshop-come-cafe that tries out the latest recipes from the latest cookbooks out on lucky customers.
3pm - Pop into the Notting Hill Bookshop
No Notting Hill visit is complete without visiting the famous Notting Hill Bookshop! Recognised as the shooting location from the 1999 film Notting Hill, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant - this book store is where Grant’s character famously worked.
7pm - Dinner
Whether you fancy trying some fish and chips from a renowned chippy or something a bit more snazzy, Notting Hill is jam-packed with great cafés and restaurants. Whatever you desire – from a street food snack to a refined dinner – these are some of our favourite eateries in the area.
Caractère - This former pub has been transformed into a classy and contemporary venue with a seasonal menu. Masterminded by Michel Roux Jur’s daughter Emily and her husband, chef Diego Ferrari.
Coctte - A farm-to-table rotisserie with homemade healthy dishes. This french inspired restaurant has everything you could possibly want from classic ratatouille to zingy salads.
Electric Diner - Situated on the infamous Portobello Road, this American style diner is next to one of London’s oldest cinemas, try the cheeseburger or the “Electric Donuts”.
The Fish House - It’s reputation and quality mean that it’s usually busy, but the good news is you can grab a takeaway if you don’t fancy sitting in.
9pm - Drinks
If you fancy a good old “Londoners after work pint” (don’t worry this goes on until the wee hours) or an upscale bar, Notting Hill has it all. All just a stones throw away from your apart hotel, these West London institutions are guaranteed to have a lively atmosphere, whatever day of the week.
Try “The Sun In Splendour” for a bohemian feel, “The Cock and Bottle” for an old-school feel (complete with Grandad Corner), The Elgin which is over 150 years old or if cocktails are your thing make sure you check out Trailer Happiness.
